ASTM B163 This specification covers seamless tubes of nickel and nickel alloys, for use in condenser and heat-exchanger service.
ASTM B163 N08825 tubes, made from Alloy 825 (UNS N08825), designed for excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments. When used in extruded fin tubes, they play a critical role in heat exchangers and other thermal applications where both corrosion resistance and efficient heat transfer are required.
Alloy 825 resists sulfuric and phosphoric acids, seawater, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Ideal for offshore, chemical processing, petrochemical, and power plants where acidic or saline conditions exist. And maintains strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures (up to ~540°C / 1000°F), suitable for waste heat recovery, boilers, and refinery heaters.
Alloy 825 performs well in carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres, common in ethylene crackers and reformer furnaces, and has long service life in harsh conditions.
Extruded Fin Tube
Base Tube Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, titanium, and alloys.
Fin Materials: Aluminum or the same material as the base tube.
Extruded fin tubes are specialized heat transfer components widely used in industries requiring efficient thermal management. The fins are mechanically bonded to the base tube, ensuring excellent thermal conductivity and durability.Fin tubes allow for a larger heat transfer surface area, improving efficiency. The extrusion process enhances the structural integrity of the tube, making it suitable for high-pressure environments.
Applications
Considerations
ASTM B163 N08825 extruded fin tubes combine corrosion resistance, thermal efficiency, and durability, making them essential in industries where standard stainless steels (e.g., 304/316) fail. Their use extends equipment lifespan while ensuring optimal heat transfer in extreme conditions.
